ParentSquare Staff Introduction

Why ParentSquare?

  • One central tool for communication that includes newsletters, eAlerts, messages, calendars, and more

  • Quick translation for families on content and messages to and from parents

  • Get the help you need  through RSVPs, calendar events, request items, and even seek volunteers

  • Single message for all.  All users can set notification preferences (app, phone, email, etc)

  • No setup for staff with all rosters and information imported from PowerSchool

  • Extend learning home by sharing exciting news and updates

  • Improved safety by archiving messages to and from parents that can be used to legally support staff

What

ParentSquare is an all in one communication tool for BCSC parents and staff.  Buildings and staff have the ability to communicate in 3 ways:

  1. Posts:  Like a social media post, these information blocks can include pictures, videos, and more.  Users can choose to get email notifications, text alerts, and app push notifications.

  2. Messages:  Staff can send a message to a parent or a group of parents.  Parents can reply or initiate messages to the teacher.

  3. Alerts and notices:  One way communication used for alerts and notices.  This is one way communication.

When and How

BCSC will start using ParentSquare for parent communication starting in the 2022-2023 school year.  Teachers will be notified of active accounts this summer and parents will once schedules have all been set and communicated.

Parents, teachers, and administrators can access via their website, www.parentsquare.com, or phone app.  Teachers and administrators can also post using either the website or phone app.  Training resources and sessions will be available through ParentSquare and also during live sessions close to the start of the school year and throughout the fall.

Do I need to do anything?

ParentSquare will be the district communication tool for our parents.  If you have paid subscriptions to Remind, Dojo, or any other systems, you will no longer need to pay for those tools.
