Control YouTube Access with Linewize Classroom Manager (Classwize)

YouTube access is allowed for students in Middle and High schools and blocked for students in Elementary schools.
Below you can see the strategies if you want to change YouTube Access in your classroom.
Allow Full YouTube Access in Elementary Classrooms
At the Elementary level, all YouTube is blocked.
If you want to allow full access to YouTube or only allow certain videos, the best strategy is to create a rule.
- Go to the Class you want to edit
- Click Rules
- Click Create New Rule
- In the This Rule Controls type and select YouTube for full access or enter the URL for a specific video.
- Click Allowed
- Select whether this rule applies to all students or individual students
- Click Add Rule. This will allow full YouTube Access for the selected students in your class.


Forbid Access to YouTube in Secondary Classrooms
By default, YouTube is allowed for Secondary students. If you want to completely deny YouTube Access for the time of your class, you can create a Rule:
- Go to the Class you want to edit
- Click Rules
- Click Create New Rule
- In the This Rule Controls type and select YouTube (or any other website you want to restrict)
- Click Blocked
- Select whether this rule applies to all students or individual students
- Click Add Rule. This will block YouTube access for the selected students in your class.
