Important Note Restricting Students to a Static Website (URL Won't Change) Restricting Students to a Website When the URL May Change

Important Note

Focus feature will lock ALL other websites, including authentication methods (such as Google SSO). Make sure that the student is logged in the website before starting the Focus.

There are two ways to create a lockdown browser:

Restricting Students to a Static Website (URL Won't Change)

  1. If you need to lock down one specific page that will not change, you can use the Focus feature.
  2. In the class, click Class Tools - Focus - Create Focus
  3. Click Save this focus to my library if you want to save the settings for future use
  4. Enter the full website URL. You can enter as many specific URL websites as you need.
  5. Click Select students and choose whether to apply this setting to all students or only selected ones.
  6. The students won't be able to open any other webpage as long as the Focus is active.

Restricting Students to a Website When the URL May Change

For situations where a website's address may change but students still need to stay on that site:

  1. Create a Focus by going to Class Tools > Focus > Create Focus.
  2. Click Save this focus to my library if you want to save the settings for future use.
  3. Enter the full website — not just a single URL — into the Resources field. Some resources may already appear in the pop-up window; others may need to be entered manually as a website.
  4. When you enter an entire website, you won't be able to toggle Lock to Page.
  5. Click Select Students and decide whether the setting should apply to just one student or to your entire class.
  6. After applying the Focus, go back to Class Tools > Tab Limit and set the tab limit to match the number of resources you allowed in your Focus.
  7. This setup ensures students can only open and navigate the websites you specified in the Focus, while the tab limit prevents any other tab from being opened.
