Graduating Seniors - Device Take-Home Information 2024
Know what to expect from your Chromebook when you take it home after graduating
Seniors graduating in 2024 can take a Chromebook, case, and charger home. If you choose to do this, in June-July 2024 you will notice changes on your Chromebook when it’s removed from the BCSC management system. Please make sure you have a personal, non-BCSC Google account before June. You will also need Internet access to complete Chromebook setup.
The Chromebook that can be kept by the students is HP Chromebook x360 11 G3 EE. If you have a different Chromebook, please return it and pick up the HP Chromebooks to be your permanent device.
When your Chromebook is removed from the BCSC management, it will reset and the next time you turn on your device you will see this screen.
Click Get started. On the next screen, you will select your home Internet connection and enter the password.
After the connection is successful, you will see a series of prompts. Please select options applicable to you. When you reach the screen that prompts you to enter your account, please enter your personal Google account information as your BCSC account will also be deactivated several weeks after your graduation.
When you complete the setup, you will see the welcome screen. You can use your Chromebook as a personal device.
- If your device is disabled, it means there were issues with your account or record. Please reach out to your building technology office to resolve this issue.
- If you have more than one device, you must return one of them to the tech office to avoid receiving a bill for the second device.
- After graduation, BCSC will not perform any repairs or maintenance of your Chromebook.
For any questions, please contact your building technology office.
