PowerSchool SSO Troubleshooting

Staff

Ensure that they are logging in the correct portal:
1. Admin
2. Teacher
If they still can't log in, verify that the correct account login is granted
1. On PowerSchool Admin, find the correct staff member and follow the applicable troubleshooting process

For PowerSchool Teacher access, navigate to Staff Profile - Account Access and Affilliation
To be able to sign in to PowerTeacher, the staff member needs to have Sign In to PowerTeacher checked and Identity Provider Global ID entered correctly.
If Sign In to PowerTeacher is not checked, do not check it! Please enter a ticket to Information Services and the team will review the permissions.
If the Identity Provider Global ID is incorrect or not entered, enter the correct email address.

For PowerSchool Admin access, navigate to Staff Profile - Admin Access and Roles.
To be able to sign in to PowerSchool Admin, the staff member needs to have Sign In to Administrative Portion of PowerSchool checkmark enabled and have an Identity Provider Global ID entered correctly.
If Sign In to Administrative Portion of PowerSchool is not checked, do not check it! Please enter a ticket to Information Services and the team will review the permissions.
If the Identity Provider Global ID is incorrect or not entered, enter the correct email address.

Ensure parents and students use the Public Access portal
Parents continue to use their username/password sign in and not SSO
Students need to click Student Sign In at the bottom of the window to be redirected to the SSO screen
If the student still can't sign in, check that the Identity Provider Global ID is entered correctly in PowerSchool Admin
Navigate to the student profile in PowerSchool Admin - Student Profile - Student and Guardian Account Access
To sign in, Enable Student Access should be checked and the Identity Provider Global ID field should have the student's correct email address. You can edit both fields.
