What Changed?
Starting Summer 2026 Elementary and Middle students will no longer be able to share documents to Students from other buildings or Non-BCSC Google Accounts. High school students and staff are unchanged.
How did it work before? Why the change?
Previously middle school and elementary students were able to access non BCSC Google documents and communicate using Google Docs district wide. This lead to potential student safety issues, in addition the ability to use Google documents as a chat room across multiple buildings was causing instructional disruption.
What does it look like for Elementary and Middle school students?

Students can simply click ‘Don’t show this again' to never see the pop up again.

This is expected behavior as now students won't be able to give access to non BCSC accounts.
