Welcome to BCSC! To help you get started smoothly with our technology, please complete the setup tasks below in order.
Account Setup
Step 1: Access Your BCSC Google Account
- Check your personal email: Once HR processes your paperwork, you will receive an email containing your BCSC username (i.e. username@bcsc.k12.in.us) and a temporary password.
- Sign in and update password: Sign in to Google using your credentials. You will be prompted to create a new password immediately. If the prompt does not appear automatically, click here to set your password.
Step 2: Enable KnowBe4 Phish Protection

Allow Permissions: After signing in, click Allow when prompted for KnowBe4 Phish.
- KnowBe4 helps protect against phishing emails. If you receive a suspicious message, click the orange fish hook icon in Gmail to report it to BCSC Technology.

Step 3: Secure Your Account with Two-Step Verification (2FA)
- Your BCSC Google account provides access to essential systems, including Gmail, Google Drive, Skyward Employee Access, Incident IQ, and PowerSchool. Two-Step Verification (2FA) is required to secure your account.

If 2FA setup is incomplete, you may be temporarily locked out of BCSC systems.
Device Setup
Depending on your role, you may receive a Chromebook, a Windows Laptop, or both. Follow the specific instructions below for your device type.

Chromebook Instructions
BCSC uses PaperCut to manage printing to copiers and printers. Before you can print from a Chromebook, you’ll need to sign in to Mobility Print using your BCSC Google account.
- Open Print Menu: Press Ctrl + P or click Print on any document or webpage.
- Select See More: In the Destination dropdown menu, select See more.

Sign In to PaperCut Mobility Print: When prompted, click Sign in with Google and select your BCSC Google account.

You're All Set! A list of available printers will appear. Printers with a green PaperCut icon next to them indicate that you are successfully signed in and can print to BCSC copiers/printers.

Windows Laptop
Task 1: Set Google Chrome as Your Default Browser
Ensure all links and PDF files open properly by completing these steps:
- Open Settings: Click the Windows Search bar, type "Settings", and open the Settings app.
- Go to Default Apps: Navigate to Apps → Default Apps.
- Select Chrome: Locate and select Google Chrome.
- Set Default: Click Set default and verify Google Chrome is also set as the default application for PDF files.
Task 2: Connect to PaperCut Printing
There are two locations you will need to sign in to for PaperCut.

First Location: When the PaperCut pop-up window appears, click Sign in with Google and select your BCSC account.

Second Location: Open Google Chrome, press Ctrl + P, in the Destination dropdown select See More…, then select the Sign in with Google button and select your account. All district copiers and printers will now be available in your destination list.

No Device

Key BCSC Systems
- Google Workspace: Primary productivity suite including Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, and Calendar.
- Incident IQ: Central portal for submitting tech support tickets and facilities work orders.
- Skyward Employee Access: Portal for Timeclock, Payroll, and HR tasks (View Skyward Tutorials).
- Managed Bookmarks: When logged into your BCSC Chrome profile, access the "Managed Bookmarks" folder for quick links to all essential applications.

Don't Forget
Once your receive your official BCSC badge, there is one more step. Some of our building copiers use secure print release. This means your document will not print until you tap your badge at the machine. To link your badge to your PaperCut account:
- Tap your badge on the copier's card reader.
- Enter your username (without @bcsc.k12.in.us after it) and password, then tap Associate Card.
- Tap OK on the confirmation screen.
Afterwards, you can tap to release your print jobs.
